Community Impact of Stray Dog Theatre
Since 2003, Stray Dog Theatre (SDT) has been positively impacting the lives of residents in the Saint Louis community.
- SDT produces six main-stage shows per season, performing to more than 10,000 audience members.
- Over the past four years combined, SDT and its artists received the third highest number of nominations and awards from The St. Louis Theater Circle amongst the city's professional theaters.
- SDT provides a New Works Laboratory wherein playwrights, performers, and audiences interact to refine as-yet-unpublished scripts as they unfold live on stage.
- SDT provides arts-based after school programs through four Saint Louis Public School locations. These Arts-In-Mind (AIM) programs serve 150+ students every school day.
- SDT provides more than 60 area youth the opportunity to work with industry professionals in the staging of a full-scale student production through Stray Pups Youth Theatre.
- SDT holds eight, two-week summer youth camps around the city. Arts-In-Reach (AIR) community outreach serves 150+ youth, integrating the dynamic aspects of theatre (interpretive reading, writing, performance, and design) through age-and ability-appropriate activities to promote total development.
- SDT donates more than 500 performance tickets to nonprofit organizations in Saint Louis each year. Through this and other Arts-In-Deed (AID) community initiatives, SDT helps raise awareness and ensure participation by many who might otherwise never have the opportunity to experience the arts.
- SDT sponsors food drives, donating 500+ nonperishable food items to local food banks.
With your support, we can continue to inspire communities, families, and children throughout Saint Louis. Stray Dog Theatre would appreciate your partnership in enlightening lives through the transformative experience of theatre arts.
This is a party you don't want to miss.
