You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown
Kicking off the theater's new youth theater program, the Jewel Box Performance Academy, local youth actors will play the roles of your favorite Peanuts gang in a production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," based on the beloved comic strip by Charles M. Shultz.
"You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" tells the story of an average day in the life of the famous comic strip child hero, Charlie Brown. Meet Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, Lucy, and Snoopy as they share their observations, largely negative, of Charlie Brown. Lucy is infatuated with Schroeder and takes great pleasure in tormenting Charlie Brown. Linus loves his blanket. Snoopy lives in his rich imagination. Charlie Brown is in love with a mysterious little redheaded girl. Together they create a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
Directed by Gabe Carbajal; Assistant Director, D'Arcy Clements; Musical Director, Michelle Lorenz Odell. The local youth cast includes Kalea Levy as Charlie Brown, Delaney Wiggins as Sally Brown, Celeste DeRubertis as Lucy, Libby Clements-Hall as Snoopy, Ian Mitchell and Chloe Bohonos as Linus, and Freeman Tuohy as Schroeder.
Performances of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" are Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23 at 8 p.m., and Sunday June 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets prices $8 for youth (age 17 and under) and $10 for adults.
