SHOK is based on a true story experienced by the films producer/actor Eshref Durmishi. It is set during the escalation of the Kosovo War when the country was occupied by Serbia. It tells the story of the friendship of two boys, tested to its limits as they battle for survival. SHOK is the first Kosovo film production to be nominated for an Oscar.
