LEXI WEEGE Live in THE GRAND HALL at WORKSHOP13 ~ Special Guests ANDYHASABAND and PETER PLANTE
Door @ 6:30PM Show @ 7PM $15 Advance $18 Door
Chris Peles in Association with Workshop13 Proudly Presents the first concert of the 2016 Singer/Songwriter Series in The Grand Hall featuring LEXI WEEGE accompanied by guitarist TOM LeBEAU with Special Guest ANDY GOULD.
Lexi Weege's music is passionate, alive, awakened; the narrative of a woman unashamed of her desires and unafraid to seize control. Weege conjures up decadent scenes of the roaring twenties with her stellar voice and jazz-influenced compositions.
Constantly touring, performing, and creating, Lexi has released a full-length album, "Virgin" (2013) and more recently, "Sweet Moon", a '7 record, both recorded live to tape. Weege's insistence on analogue recording is evidence of her passion for authenticity in her music.
"With the confidence to throw her all into the circus ring of theatricality, Lexi Weege stamps the mark of a true performer. (Bluesbunny.com)"
"Weeges powerful voice is an expressive tool that can go from a sultry purr to a guttural roar...Weege writes from the perspective of a woman who is in control and knows what she wants" -Sheryl Hunter, Greenfield Recorder
"Lexi Weege is a Jazz/Blues musician and vocalist of unparalleled ability and power. She entrances all who come within earshot." -Collin Chmielowiec - We Are One Photographic Blog
ANDYHASABAND: Too few members to be a band; Too much sound for the usual solo singer. Andy Gould, of the punk band FUNZZLE, finds himself straddling a line between classic country and rock. At once gentle and raucous, Gould's melodies are sure to ring in your head long after show's end. Andy's debut solo album is due later this year.
PETER PLANTE, an area musician playing guitar and bass over the past 5 decade performing in many venues, with many bands. He now concentrates on songwriting and has over 100 compositions to his credit. Peter lives in East Granby, CT. with his wife and has four children.
