SURJ Racial Literacy Workshop
"We need you defecting from white supremacy and changing the narrative of white supremacy by breaking white silence." - Alicia Garza, Co-Founder Black Lives Matter
What are ways that white people can work to break white silence? What are the racial competencies we can cultivate to engage more meaningfully with our friends, family and co-workers about race, racism and racial identity?
Through role-playing, conversation and practice, this workshop will help white people develop and activate the racial literacy skills needed to build our systemic awareness, recognize and interrupt the racism we see in our everyday lives, and call in more white people to be part of a multi-racial movement for justice.
Childcare provided - please reserve ahead of time by emailing surjbayarea@gmail.com
COST: $10 - $20 (no one turned away for lack of funds) Space is limited so reserve today.
