CHI-RAQ with Violence Panel (FILM at the Erie Art Museum)
FILM at the Erie Art Museum is happy to present the latest Spike Lee joint, "CHI-RAQ", for the first time in NWPA! Thank you to our Friends of FILM: Judge Ronald A. Wilson (ret.) and Monica L. Wilson.
Confirmed Panelists: Dr. Rhonda Matthews, Associate Professor Edinboro University Department of Political Science & Criminal Justice, Ben Speggen, Program Director at the Jefferson Education Society, Umeme Sababu, MA, Chairperson/Social Sciences Program Director Edinboro University, Jim Wertz, PhD, Assistant Professor Journalism and Public Relations Department Edinboro University.
A modern day adaptation of the ancient Greek play "Lysistrata" by Aristophanes, set against the backdrop of gang violence in Chicago. Urgently topical, satisfyingly ambitious and featuring some of Spike Lee's smartest, sharpest, and all-around entertaining work.
