Cardiff Hula Hoop and Circus Jam Anniversary Celebration
Cardiff Hula Hoop and Circus Prop Flow Jam has now been running for year so we thought we'd celebrate in style!
What is the Jam? It is an opportunity for people to practice their skills in hula hoop or any other ground based circus prop such as juggling, poi, staff and so much more and is held on the third Weds of the month.
How will the celebration event be different? There will be taster sessions and performances finishing with a jam. There will also be stalls and a raffle.
Come along and take some short taster classes to see if you might enjoy hula hooping, juggling or other taster sessions to be confirmed. Showcasing some skills you might want to practice at the monthly jam as well as some other Cardiff classes.
Just want to watch? Tickets are available to come and see performances from the world of poi spinning, hula hooping and more.
The night will end with an opportunity to experience what the jam is all about, bring your favourite flow prop and join in with the jam to finish the evening!
Want to buy your own hula hoop? There will be stalls selling hula hoops for beginners and hula hoops for the more experienced, clothing, jewellery and nick nacks!
Tickets:
£10 to participate in two taster sessions, enjoy the performances and stay for the jam. (arrival time 18:30)
£7 to watch the performances and stay for the jam (arrival time 19:20 for 19:30 performances)

There are four taster sessions to choose from, taster session tickets gives you two taster sessions.
The fantastically dynamic Emilie Lecocq with a short club juggling workshop! Emilie is a self-taught Bristol based juggler coming to share her own blend of traditional and contemporary styles. Emilie has been juggling clubs for 4 years. Come along to her taster session and give this fantastic skill a try!
The fab, fun and sparkly Ellie of Elliecoptor hoops will be teaching hula hooping. Ellie teaches Hula Hoop on a regular basis at Nofit State Circus, Elliecoptor hoops and various festivals, hen parties, and events. She also performs at various corporate events and shows. Ellie also co-runs Sparkle's Hoop troupe which is a community based hoop troupe.

The brilliantly talented Luke Gee teaching staff. Luke is a multi-skilled performer, specializing in prop manipulation, currently concentrating on double staffs. This workshop is suitable for beginners. Come along and give it a go!
Mindful yoga session with Anna from The Light Gets in! Mindful yoga takes the ancient Eastern practices of mindfulness meditation and yoga, and fuses them together. It is a wonderful way to integrate mind and body, and to find a very real sense of inner calm. Anna creates a quiet, non-competitive environment, where the focus is on you, your body and your mat - a haven from the frenetic lives we all lead. No experience necessary so come along and give it a try!
Performances
Debby Trubble of Hulala Hoopers! (hula hoops)
Debby has been hooping for five years, and loves to spin fire with poi, levistick, fans and more, as well as single and double hoop. She loves to perform at festivals and events all over the country. A teacher of Hoop Dance classes in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, she also makes hoops and unique acid wash, woven clothing.
Lou-Aldee Movement Art (contact poi)
Alan is a multi prop artist, with main focus on contact poi and contact juggling. Hes attended countless workshops and private sessions with some of he best flow artist in the world. He has taught and performed at music and juggling/spinning festivals in America and the UK for the past four years. Focusing on the dance and body movement aspect when it comes to prop manipulation, he emphasises on the healing aspect of movement and repetitive motion.
Sammy from Sammyshine Dance and Katie from Cirque du Keg (Pole dancing)
Katie (Keg) had her first taste of pole back in 2006 whilst at uni; got a home pole and started regularly training at the start of 2014 with the creation of Sammyshine dance - and is now a self confessed pole addict and poles anywhere and everywhere she can!
Sammy started ballet at 4 then tap and modern at 9. At 13 then started jazz, dancing.5 yrs ago Sammy went to a pole dance lesson with a friend, and was blown away. "It's fun and it gives you so much confidence and can transform your body, it's a fantastic workout. I love sharing my dancing and hold weekly classes for beginners and intermediates"
There will also be freestyle performances on the night
