What is Seattle Out and Proud?

This is done annually through the pride events produced by Seattle Out and Proud, which celebrate, educate and provide awareness of the diversity within the LGBT Communities of Metropolitan Seattle.
What do they do?
Currently they produce three main events and SO& P's 3M Contest will be in addition to:
Pride Idol, a singing competition that begins in March and continues through June. With nearly a hundred participants, the final winner performs aboard the Pride Idol float during the Seattle Pride Parade.
The Pride Picnic held in June at Volunteer Park which offers a family friendly event where SO&P provides lunch, games and music!
The largest event being the Seattle Pride Parade held on Sunday in June. Historically it honors Stonewall marking the start of the gay rights movement in 1969. This even features over 120 parade entries from different organizations, employers, sponsors and movements participate in this event. This event brings public awareness to current issues while also providing and advertising resources that support diversity, equal rights and community.
WE ARE VOLUNTEERS!
Seattle Out & Proud is an organization made up completely of volunteers. This organization is only successful through the help of many hard working and devoted volunteers who assist and support us throughout the entire year. The events listed take SO&P a year to produce and is a full time endeavor by its dedicated Board of Directors. As we continue to grow, our volunteer needs also grow.
