Berkeley - Program 2, Midsummer Mozart Festival
Program 2, Friday July 27, 2012

"Magic Flute" Overture, K. 620
"A te, fra tanti affanni" from Davidde Penitente, K. 469
Christopher Bengochea, tenor
Piano Concerto in E flat, K. 482
Seymour Lipkin, pianist
" Great" Mass in c minor, K. 427
Christina Major, soprano I, Rebecca Davis, soprano II
Christopher Bengochea, tenor, Kirk Eichelberger , bass
Pacific Mozart Ensemble, Lynne Morrow, director

For our second week we are presenting another great piano concerto, played by our old friend, Seymour Lipkin, one of the great musicians of our era. But, as a fascinating bonus, our tenor is going to sing a gorgeous aria from the different version of the C minor Mass, which appears only in the less often heard Davidde Peninente. Our line up of soloists for the Mass in the second half is stellar.
