How to Write a Persona Poem
LitSpace Literary Arts Institute at Morean Arts Center
Saint Petersburg, FL
Share this event:

The word persona comes from the Latin word for masks that were used in Classical Roman and Greek theatre. In a persona poem the writer dons a mask and writes from the persona's point of view. In this workshop writers will poet create personas to become the first-person speaker of their poems. Persona poems aim to tell a story that exposes and examines the emotional, physical and psychological aspects of the persona's state of being. The session will focus on reading, writing, and sharing persona poems.
