28th Annual Pacific Northwest Historics Vintage Auto Races

TIME: 8:30am gates open each day 9:00am - 5:00pm Friday qualifying in morning & racing 9:00am - 5:00pm Saturday/Sunday racing
EVENT DESCRIPTION: The Pacific Northwest Historics features many of the world's rarest and most beautiful pre-1972 race cars. The featured marque for the 2016 Pacific Northwest Historics will be Corvette, and we are excited to welcome back the BMW PRO3 Group. Other favorite marques including Mustangs, Camaros, Porsches, Alfa Romeos, and some less recognizable names like Marcos, Devin, and Piper will be racing. Most are in mint condition through extensive restoration, and many attain speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour.
The wheel to wheel competition runs on the challenging 2.25 mile Pacific Raceways road course which includes nine turns, a 200-300 foot elevation drop, and a near mile straightaway. The paddock area and in-field are open to all spectators.
GUEST CELEBRITY: Lyn St. James - She was the first woman to win the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year, has seven Indianapolis 500 starts (six of which were consecutive), held 31 International and national closed circuit speed records of a 20-year period, two 24 Hours of Daytona wins in 1987 and 1990, one 12 Hours of Sebring win in 1990, has raced twice in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, raced in SCCA Trans-Am races, IMSA GT races, and received the Rolex Award of Excellence.
St. James was named one of Sports Illustrated for Women "Top-100 Women Athletes of the Century", and in 2010 Automotive News named her "One of the Top 100 Women in the Automotive Industry". She has been invited to the White House on three occasions to meet Presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton. St. James has also made numerous television appearances, including The David Letterman Show, and has a history as a sports commentator for ESPN/ESPN2, Pit Reporting for ABC ESPN/ESPN2.
As the Founder of Women in the Winner's Circle Foundation, a nonprofit organization for the education, training, and advancement of women in automotive fields, St. James has proudly been a coach and mentor to many young and adult women in the automotive fields. She created the Women's Sports Foundation Project Podium Scholarship Grant, as well as a traveling exhibit on women in racing in partnership with The Henry Ford museum.
