Breaking Our Silence MN is being produced by Pro-Choice Resources and Whole Woman's Health with support from the partners of the Minnesota Choice Coalition, Abortion Care Network and Preterm. Our community members will be coming together to read stories that challenge the silence and stigma that surrounds abortion. We do this because we know that the prevailing narrative about abortion needs to reflect the real world experiences of women and transgender people who have accessed abortion care; their reasons, experiences, values, faith, struggles, triumphs, beliefs, and emotions.

Not only does this event honor the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, it also looks ahead to the upcoming 2016 Supreme Court case, Whole Woman's Health v. Cole, a case that will determine the future of abortion access in the United States.

The event will take place Wednesday, January 20th from 6pm - 9pm at Open Book's Target Performance Gallery at 1011 S. Washington Ave, Minneapolis. There will be a social hour from 6pm - 6:45pm with food and drinks, with the readings starting at 6:45pm.

All proceeds will go towards covering the costs of the event, and any extra funds will go directly towards providing women, girls, and transgender people who can get pregnant with financial assistance to access abortion care.
