Knife handling is an essential skill to anyone interested in the art of cooking. There are multiple tools, techniques, and applications depending on your desired results and recipe.
Start with the basics! Learn about knife selection, how to effectively sharpen, handle, and utilize knives for various cutting techniques. We will cover the basics as we create and prep meat and vegetables for seasonal recipes. We recommend you bring your own chef's knife, a paring knife and any other knife you always use. Students are not required to provide their own knives, but are welcome to bring their own.
Students will take home various meat and vegetable ingredients portioned in class for a specific recipe. Recipes are to be determined based on seasonal availability of fresh ingredients.
