The Design Science Symposium is an interactive meeting of makers, thinkers, practitioners, and educators.
The theme for the 2016 Symposium is STEAM Intelligence which stands for multidisciplinary thinking that relies on actively integrating and applying Science, Technology, Engineering, Art +Design, and Math.
The three day symposium features a remarkable line up of presenters including Haresh Lalvani, Nikos Salingaros, Bill Browning, John C. Warner and Rebecca Kamen. Plus a series of presentations and workshops to explore through discussion and making notions of whole systems thinking, bio design, and biomimicry; looking to and learning from nature.
The Synergetics Collaborative and the Edna Lawrence Nature Lab at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) have organized Biennial Design Science Symposia since 2007. Striving to keep the work of R. Buckminster Fuller current, relevant, and applied.
