Lighthouse Tour HIKE - KAYAK
The Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers welcome you to join our docent-led interpretive tour to experience a rich history on the grounds, in the beautifully restored Lighthouse, the Hornhouse, and other structures. Please note this is a hike that leaves at 8:30 am with an option to take a trolley back to Avila. When you hike up you must register for a free docent led trail experience through PG&E - goo.gl/c0P4VA The hike leaves at 8:30 am so please arrive at the trailhead beforehand at the Fisherman's Memorial located between the Port's parking lot and Diablo Canyon Power Plant's entrance gates.
We will give you a glimpse into the lives of Lighthouse Keepers and their families while helping keep our jewel of the Central Coast preserved and protected. The historic Light Station Park, built in 1890, enjoys dramatic vistas of the Pacific!
If you are kayaking in please have dry footwear and be ready to begin the tour at the Lighthouse gift shop at 10:30am every Wed. & Sat. Hikers have the option of riding the trolley down.
During the Pecho Coast hike visitors will learn about the history of the area, habitat, vegetation, geology, while taking in breathtaking views of the Pacific. Due to trail condition the hikers must be 9+. Directions to the starting location are provided upon purchase.
