Blazing Saddles 2012: A honky tonk of Wild West proportions!
A new sheriff has come to the town of Manton River Junction!
Here's yer chance to hear her side of the story at this rip-roarin' benefit party for The Manton Avenue Project, featuring live music by David Rabinow and friends, a little two-steppin', lasso lessons, a gold rush, and a saddle-bag grab. There will be BBQ to boot! So shine up those saddles and wear yer best spurs!
And Trinity star Joe Wilson, Jr., our MC for the evening, will even be auctioning off a two-night trip to weird, wonderful and wild Austin, Texas, a two-night trip to Full Circle Ranch in Arizona, and more! And of course, you'll get a chance to see MAP in action with a production of six original musical plays written by brilliant kid playwrights (aged 8-13) and local celebrity guest playwrights: musical personality DJ Kabeza, Olneyville Housing Corporation head Frank Shea, and Denise D'Abate, daughter of the namesake of MAP's favorite elementary school. Directed by Brien Lang and Nicole Maynard. Music by David Tessier. Starrin' Steve Kidd and Casey Seymour Kim from GAMM Theatre, Stephen Thorne from Trinity Rep, Clare Blackmer, Melissa Bowler, Richard Donelly, Jed Hancock-Brainard, Leigh Hendrix, Pamela Lambert, Rebecca Noon, Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, Kelly Seigh, and several amazing MAP kid actors!
The Manton Avenue Project's goal is to unleash the creative voices and unique potential of kids living in Providence's Olneyville neighborhood. For more on who we are and what we do, please see: www.mantonavenueproject.org.
