Women of Vision Greater Seattle Walk for Water 2012
How far have you walked for water today?
In developing countries women and girls often walk 4 miles a day to collect water for their families. They set out every morning in search of clean water. Once found, they then carry about five gallons of water, 42 pounds, on their backs or heads as they make the trek home!
We'll be filling buckets and walking around Greenlake to raise awareness for this cause. Bring a bucket and join us for the walk! (Feel free to attempt 42 lbs, something lighter, or even just join us to walk).
We will meet at Bethany Community Church for a brief educational event, and will then set out to Greenlake to make the trek ourselves. As a registered participant you will receive a Walk for Water t-shirt to wear on the walk!
Please note: Attendees are strongly encouraged to register by Thursday, May 24th to guarantee t-shirt availability. While registration is available after that date and the day of, only a very limited amount of shirts will be available.
Women of Vision Greater Seattle is a volunteer organization of World Vision. Through our work, we raise money for projects, such as clean water, around the world and at home to help serve the most vulnerable.
