Standards Alignment-Vancouver
As part of the historic Early Start Act's comprehensive approach, we invite you to join an important community forum in Longview on November 19th, 9:30 am-12:00 pm and in Vancouver on November 19th, 6:30 pm-9:00 pm at ESD 112  to discuss one key part of the work-- the alignment of the standards in licensing, Early Achievers and ECEAP.

Alignment is the idea of creating a smooth pathway of the standards in licensing, Early Achievers and ECEAP.  With standards alignment, we can:
eliminate duplication of standards across licensing, Early Achievers and ECEAP
use consistent language across licensing, Early Achievers, and ECEAP
create a smooth progression across licensing, Early Achievers and ECEAP
show the connections between licensing, Early Achievers and ECEAP
Alignment of standards can yield big benefits for our diverse families, communities and families.

Southwest Washington Early Learning Regional Coalition (SWEL) is pleased to be partnering with Thrive Washington, Child Care Aware, the Department of Early Learning's Alignment Project Advisory Committee, and the Department of Early Learning, to host a community forum on alignment.  This forum presents a great opportunity for you and other community members to learn more about the alignment work, principles, and process;  to review work to date, and to contribute your expertise and experience to this important work.

Please consider joining us on November 19th.    We hope to hear from center and family home providers who work in both urban and rural settings, including large multi-site programs as well as single site programs.  We value input from providers who work with licensing, Early Achievers and/or ECEAP.  We welcome providers, advocates, and families.  We welcome technical assistance, professional development and other leaders who support a strong, successful early learning in Washington.

We will meet in Longview on November 19th, 9:30 am-12:00 pm and in Vancouver on November 19th, 6:30 pm-9:00 pm at ESD 112
