The workshop will take attendees through the sequence of designing, connecting and coding a simple Arduino project. In addition, the instructors will give advice on how to get started using Arduinos.
Arduinos are small, inexpensive, open source microcontroller boards that are used for many purposes, in technology and the arts. Arduino's can be connected to a wide variety of sensors, and can control lights, servo motors, produce sounds, activate relays, etc.
Inventors, artists, robot builders, clothing designers and others have used Arduino's to power their creations. There is a large collection of parts, software, examples, etc. all over the internet.
The workshop is being conducted by Terry King and Mary Alice Osborne. They are engineers, makers, and the owners of YourDuino.com. Terry and Mary Alice also publish the Arduino-info wiki (http://arduino.info-wikispaces.com).
