Composer, musician and poet, Billy Scher, will be debuting his latest collection of poetic works titled "Guillermo's Midlife Shakedown," at the KGB Red Room on December 10th.

"A life filled with much loss, early loss has brought me into contact with the invader, the Ugly Spirit, and maneuvered me into a lifelong struggle, in which I had no choice except to write my way out. Guillermo's Midlife Shakedown is the universes indecipherable answer to my cries for help."

The evening will also include party favors and special musical guests who will perform some of "Guillermo's" songs and compositions.

ABOUT BILLY
Currently, Scher serves as maestro of The Bill Weevils, a bluegrass, rock and jazz-influenced "jam band" born out of the traditions established by Phish, the Grateful Dead and John Coltrane.

Musician, Entrepreneur and Poet Billy Scher was born in 1957 in the Bronx NY  just 5 blocks from Yankee Stadium.

His wide-ranging artistic accomplishments include songwriting for the 1980's "underground" jam band Halcyon; composing, producing and recording music for film and television, including for the cult feature-film classic The Search for One Eye Jimmy, which starred Steve Busemi, John Turturro and Samuel L. Jackson. Scher has also worked with a diverse array of accomplished artists such as David Bromberg, Imo Jah, Dave Brubeck, Robin Williams, Aztec Two Step, Dave Van Ronk and Cyro Baptista  among others.

In 2003, Scher  along with George Small and Sarah Larsen  -- composed the Grateful Inventions, a collection of string octets based on the music and improvisations of legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia. The works have been performed by renowned cellist Allen Stepansky and the Manhattan School of Music string Octet.
