HARVEY
The Renaissance Project Opens its 13th season with Mary Chase's "Harvey". Harvey tells the story of the affable Elwood P. Dowd and his invisible, presumably imaginary friend Harvey, a six-foot one and a half-inch tall rabbit...well..Pooka to be exact. When Elwood starts to introduce Harvey to guests at an upscale party, his society-obsessed sister, Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate. She decides to have him committed to spare her daughter Myrtle Mae and their family from future embarrassment. Comedy ensues when the folks at the Sanitarium have Veta committed instead of Elwood.
Theatre goers will recognize this as the play on which the famous movie starring James Stewart is based.
Harvey runs April 20th - May 13th Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and is under the direction of Elisha Hodgin. Costume design for the show is by Clint Horn, Set and Lighting design by Michael H. Cole, Prop and Sound design by Hunter McCreary. Tickets are $15 - $18. Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 8 p.m. on Sundays. There is also a 2 p.m. matinee on May 12th.
