Sounds and Snacks
An exploration of the wide range of musical sound, from very loud to very soft, and everything in between! Pianist Valerie Ross will perform pieces by some famous and some not-so-famous composers in a relaxed, interactive format, demonstrating how composers through the ages have used the sound of the piano to express themselves. Enjoy a spread of "noisy" snacks and drinks as you listen.
Works by Bach, Faure, Cage, Simoni, Rzewski, and others.
All proceeds will go towards my participation in SoundSCAPE this summer, a festival devoted to the creation and performance of new music by living composers. Additional donations welcome!
