Morts pour la France
This is a World Premiere Event, of original compositions especially for this program. Morts pour la France is a musical tribute to the historic role that France has played to advance the cause of human freedom in France and America from the American Revolution to World War 2. Famous speeches are set to opera music by the composer William Byron Webster, a highly talented composer and dedicated historian.
There will be three acts in this event: Act 1 The Fall of France at the beginning of World War 2 Act 2 - The American Revolution and the relationship between France and the United States. Act 3 - The liberation of France by the U.S. to end World War 2
The performers are: Michael Orlinsky, Baritone, currently performing with the West Bay Opera. Justin T. Plank, Tenor Sarah Maxwell-Neipp, Mezzo Soprano Lauren Cartwright, Soprano Edward Cibener, Pianst Tim Salaver, Musical Director
William Bryon Webster's most recent opera The Little Match Girl which he composed based on the children's story by Hans Christian Anderson; had it's world premiere in Paris, France in June of 2013. You can view the event on www.youtube.com
