August 2012 The Fremont Tour, a street theater
The Fremont Tour is a mix of public sculpture and improvisational street theater. We learn about a Fremont "ART ATTACK", fire the Fremont Rocket and meet the Fremont Troll's cousin. We have props and costumes. Sometimes the tour guides use them and sometimes the tour participants use them. OUR MISSION IS TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO FIND THEIR PLAYFULNESS THROUGH ART AND HISTORY.
Our entertaining street theater takes place in the Fremont District of Seattle which is 4 miles north of downtown. It takes about 10 minutes by city bus (#5,26,28,30).
Our 2012 season operates from Saturday, May 19th through Sunday, September 30th. The tours begin daily at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. We add a 5:00 PM on weekends and holidays. The program is family friendly and wheel chair accessible. It is about 1/2 mile long and takes 80 minutes.
The tour starts at Solstice Plaza which is on the SE corner of North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue North. It is about 200 feet behind the sculpture Waiting for the Interurban.
CAUTION: WE TAKE HAVING FUN VERY SERIOUSLY!!!
