July 2012 The Fremont Tour, a street theater
The Fremont Tour is a mix of public sculpture and improvisational street theater. We learn about a Fremont "ART ATTACK", fire the Fremont Rocket and meet the Fremont Troll's cousin. We have props and costumes. Sometimes the tour guides use them - sometimes the tour participants use them. OUR MISSION IS TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO FIND THEIR PLAYFULNESS THROUGH ART AND HISTORY.
The 2012 season operates daily from Saturday, May 19th through Sunday, September 30th. There are tours beginning daily at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. We add a 5:00 PM tour on weekends and holidays.
The Fremont District is 4 miles north of downtown Seattle. It is about a 10 minute bus ride (#5, 26, 28, 30). Tours begin at Solstice Plaza which is on the SE corner of North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue North (about 200 feet behind the sculpture Waiting for the Interurban).
The tour is 1/2 mile long and takes about 80 minutes. It is family friendly and wheel chair accessible.
CAUTION:WE TAKE HAVING FUN VERY SERIOUSLY!!!
