Mike Ostrowski
All Comedians Subject to Change.
Mike has written promotional material for Trump Plaza Casinos in Atlantic City. He's sold jokes to Jay Leno and "The Tonight Show." He's been a freelance contributor of scripts to WGN-TV's "Bozo Show," Chicago's longest-running children's program. He's captured prizes for lyric writing in various competitions. But that's not all. He's also a very funny man. For over 25 years, he's entertained audiences across the Midwest as a polished, energetic comedy talent, headlining many of Chicago's best clubs and opening for big names at concert halls in several states. Ostrowski's ability to work with a diverse group of talents--including country artist Lee Greenwood, jazz band Special EFX, pop star Michael Damian and fellow comics Pauly Shore, Richard Lewis and Jerry Seinfeld--proves Mike's act appeals to all types of audiences. He's won awards and competitions with his act, and gained the respect of comics and club owners everywhere. In the late '80s, Ostrowski taped an appearance on the nationally syndicated version of TV game show "Wheel of Fortune," which netted him over $26,000 in prizes. That experience provided material for Mike's act, which also includes liberal amounts of current events humor and odd newspaper clippings, observations and some unusual interpretations of rather ordinary objects. Ostrowski, who is married, was born September 21, 1955 in Chicago. He has performed standup comedy since 1982, and worked with an improvisational comedy group in 1981. He owns a B.A. in English from University of Illinois Chicago, and enjoys sports of all sorts. He and wife Carol currently live in Chicago. He loves comedy, he says, "Because it gives me the joy of making and seeing people laugh. It's been proven that laughter is powerful medicine--for the giver and receiver. If the joy ever goes away, I'll probably ride off into the sunset." He's got a lot of other options, as well.
