The Nutcracker Ballet Southern Maryland
The story of Clara and her nutcracker doll has delighted audiences since it premiered in 1892. Accompanied by Tchaikovsky's immortal music, "The Nutcracker Ballet" has been a holiday ritual for American audiences for many years. The parade of delightful scenes - the children on Christmas morning, the Kingdom of Sweets, the various national dances performed by costumed characters - presents a child's view of the season and is arguably the most performed ballet.
The performance will feature dancers of all ages from The Studio Cooperative in Waldorf and the local community, who will be performing choreography by Nicole Buggé, of Buggé Ballet from New York City. Southern Maryland audiences will have the opportunity to be a part of this yearly holiday tradition!
