MORE ABOUT THE FILM: "Unlike U: Trainwriting in Berlin" (Henrikgel an Red Bjorn Birg, 2011, 90min.)
Filmmakers Henrik Regel and Bjorn Birg dive deep into the universe of graffiti train-writers in Berlin in Unlike U. The film explores Berlin's own "Writer's Corner" on the Friedrichstrasse, the place for sprayers to meet since the 90s. Unlike U is 7 years in the making and beautifully documents the intensity with which these artists live out their passion. The film also shows the radical determination one needs to lead this lifestyle. Out every night, at half past one am, just so they can avoid the security guards doing their rounds. This is not much for some, but for some, it's life.
Evening curated by Jodi Powell.
