19th New York African Film Festival Opening Reception & Film Screening
On Wednesday, April 11th, 2012, African Film Festival, Inc. and the Film Society of Lincoln Center will present the opening of the 19th New York African Film Festival.
The program will start with a reception at 6:00pm. Following the reception, there will be a screening of Mika Kaurismäki's film 'Mama Africa', a stunning documentary about the world-famous South African artist and civil rights activist, Miriam Makeba. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with special guest, Bill Salter, one of Makeba's longtime musicians.
