| Description |
| The second annual, Beyond the Threshold: Seattle International Dance Festival presents artist-driven exchanges of international scope spanning the dance- theater divide. This year, The Phffft! Dance Theatre Company with Artistic Director, Cyrus Khambatta, of Seattle, WA, and Las Playades de Danza Contemporary Dance Company of Mexico led by Artistic Director Luis Arreguin, will perform a split bill Friday and Saturday November 30 and December 1 at 8pm. Each company will present their own works and a peek at a mini-international collaboration project between the two. Mr Arreguin is a former dancer and choreographer with the Ballet Nacional de Mexico and Mr. Khambatta is an award-winning local choreographer. Sunday, December 2 at 8pm, Polish Artistic Director Agnieszka Laska with her Oregon-based group direct from their Polish tour will split an evening with Ecuadorian Artistic Director, Carla Barragan and her Washington-based BQ Danza Performance Group. The festival will also feature video works including footage from upcoming international collaboration project between Phffft! and Suzy Blok and Dancers of Amsterdam, as well as footage of the final project with Collectif Entre Deux in France last March. |
