Benefit Concert with Robert Anderson and friends
Los Angeles's leading alternative strings teachers, Robert Anderson and Jacob Szekely, will perform a benefit concert for Elemental Strings on Sunday, April 29, at 2pm, at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. The two are co-founders of String Project LA, southern California's premiere creative strings program that teaches students to play music of all styles, from jazz to hip hop, and everything in between. Anderson and Szekely will be joined by the other members of Uncle Daddy for a musical experience that will surely delight you and expand your ideas of what string playing can be.
Elemental Strings is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides young string players with the opportunity to develop and strengthen their musical skills and love for music. Through weekly rehearsals and a low student to teacher ratio, students receive musical instruction at the highest level, and develop a strong sense of confidence and accomplishment. For many students, Elemental Strings is their first ensemble experience; the combined focus on orchestral skills and also a unit of chamber music provides students with a strong foundation on which to continue building their musical studies.
Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 Adults and $15 Students.
