A dance concert featuring new choreographed Bharatanatyam dances by Malathi Iyengar, Mallari showcases solos, duets, and group dances performed to new and traditional music.
The jewel of the evening is a music and dance tribute to the universal mother goddess 'Kamakshi' and the south Indian art, culture, & heritage. The music for 'Kamakshi Swarajathi' is a composition of the legendary composer Shyama Shastri (1762 - 1827).
The performance includes work by Iyengar's disciples who have continued to advance after their solo dance debut.
