The true adventures of the pirates with links to Charleston are more exciting and humorous than anything you'll see on the big screen! Noted pirate historian, Eric Lavender of Charleston Pirate Tours, in period apparel brings Charleston's Golden Age of Piracy to life with stories of Blackbeard's most notorious exploit, the blockade of Charles Towne, the capture and execution of Stede Bonnet and other pirates, the romance between Calico Jack and Anne Bonny, and much more! The actual stories included in each performance vary, because you just can't fit ALL of Charleston's pirate history into 45 minutes.
In addition to numerous network television appearances, Eric Lavender has appeared at museums, events, and schools across the southeast.
"Thank you so much for your recent visit and special presentations at The Schiele Museum in Gastonia,NC. We really found your programs to be interesting, educational and great for all ages!" Amy Ballard, Schiele Museum of Natural History
"When Eric Lavender walks into the room all activities cease, and the attention is totally focused toward the dreadlocks, the swashbuckling outfit and the parrot. His stories of life on the Carolina coast as a pirate come alive and his audience is mesmerized. His attention to detail, his life-like appearance and his ability to tell stories are all part of his alter ego. The magic comes alive. He is truly a wonderful teller of stories." Jeri England, Manager, Edgar Allan Poe Library, Sullivan's Island.
