| Description |
By Paula Vogel Paula Vogel's twist on Othello that looks in to what may have happened from the eyes of the women of the story. Desdemona is a modern woman wanting to take control of her life. The boredom of her rich lifestyle has led her to Bianca, a local prostitute. Bianca is confidant and brings new ideas to Desdemona's sheltered life. Emilia, Desdemona's washerwoman and scullery maid, is a more traditional woman and does not approve of Bianca, or her lifestyle. The clash of the traditional vs the modern woman leads these three women to discussions about love, life, and loyalty.
