Keith Johnson / Dancers
Keith Johnson / Dancers will present an evening of works In the Velocity Mainspace Theatre, November 9, 10, and 11, 2007 at 8 pm. Among the works to be presented are Brink-an ensemble piece to the music of George Crumb and Stephen Parkinson; I Dream A Highway, a duet inspired by the Dust Bowl era; Girl Falling Towards The Sky , a dance in three sections that celebrates the lives of three American girls. The dancers in the company are Marcos Duran, Bahareh Ebrahimzadeh, Rogelio Lopez Garcia, Brad Garner, Jennifer Parra, and Nikki Zialcita.
Keith Johnson danced in the companies of Ririe/Woodbury, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, Creach/Koester, and Doug Varone before establishing Keith Johnson/Dancers in 1998. he has received funding from the Choo San Goh Foundation as well as Dance/USA. He is on the faculty at California state University Long Beach where he was awarded outstanding professor in the College of The Arts in 2005.
Keith returns to Seattle after being a guest artist for Velocity in 2006
