An Evening With Matt Alber-GENERAL ADMISSION
On Saturday, April 14th, 2012, The Flesh Hungry Dog Show proudly presents "An Evening With Matt Alber".
Matt Alber Seattle-based singer/songwriter, Matt Alber is currently touring a new acoustic album titled Constant Crows. The album debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart and was recorded and produced at his home on Vashon Island in Puget Sound. The album features eight original songs and two unlikely covers, including a duet with his brother Bryce (aka Lou Jane) and Madonna's Take A Bow. To preview the new album, visit www.mattalber.com.
Matt Alber blends extraordinary, emotional nuance with impeccable vocal range and style. Following a tenure with the San Francisco-based classical ensemble, Chanticleer, winning two Grammy Awards, Matt turned his attention to contemporary projects. In 2004 he released the self-produced album of experimental songs Nonchalant with co-producer/writer Jeff Crerie at Utmosis in San Francisco. Within months Alber was signed by Tommy Boy as the first artist to their new imprint, Silver Label, and immediately began work refining his independent release into the full-length, Hide Nothing from which, his "End Of The World" video made a grassroots tidal wave in the gay community and sparked sold out shows at his first tour in 2009. The video won an Out Music Award the same year and he was featured in OUT Magazine's "Out 100."
Followers of Jason Mraz, Iron & Wine, Kd Lang and Eva Cassidy find themselves at home at Alber's shows. A quick glance around the room will reveal numerous couples holding hands, gay hipsters galore and probably somebody's parents. On the college circuit, Alber often teams up with student string quartets for his performances making for a truly unique concert experience. Holding a Bachelor of Music Performance degree, he also offers choir clinics, songwriting workshops and master classes in addition to his concerts.
