FJORDS Presented by Manual Cinema
FJORDS is a live, cinematic shadow puppet show with overhead projectors, human silhouette, manipulated video, a quadraphonic sound design, and an original score performed by string quartet. Co-presented by the Poetry Foundation and produced in part by High Concept Laboratories and Black
Ocean, FJORDS consists of fifteen short pieces of music and cinematic shadow puppetry adapted from Zachary Schomburg's book of poems, FJORDS (forthcoming from Black Ocean). The show follows a young man through a surrealist landscape as he struggles with love, family, work, and what would kill
him. The performance is accompanied by a reading of the adapted poems by Schomburg.
