The LAVC Department of Theater presents LOVE(SICK), a world premiere original collage of music, dance, poetry and drama on the theme of romantic love. Performed by an all-student cast of actors, singers, and dancers, the evening blends contemporary and classical poetry...pop, rock and jazz music...and dance in styles ranging from modern and contemporary to hip-hop and jazz...into an original and never-before-seen re-mix of voices drawn from an eclectic mix of authors and songwriters, new and old, traditional and cutting-edge current.
The LAVC student cast includes Katherine Arevalo, Caitlin Ary, Heather Beason, Jennifer Bravo, Anna Carlise, Alyssa Carter, Krista Cowen, Monica Fleming, Allyson Glaser, Tianna Goss, Tiffany Jordan, Natasha Kaneda, Briana Norman, Kelsey Rogers, Jazmine Sanchez, Megan Salcedo, Bethany Sluder, Shondalia White, Leo Amanse, Will Byrne, Moises Castro, Joe Green, Alvyn Lopez, Reggie Luckett, Carlo Maghirang, Luis Marquez, Sean Miller, Bosa Mora, Mike Perrenoud, Rob Reale, Aka Torti, Willie Vasquez, and Luke Zender.
The choreographer is Carla Lubow, of the LAVC Dance faculty; the musical director is Melissa Sky-Eagle; LAVC student Richard Rossi will play lead guitar. The scenic design is by LAVC Theater faculty member Cesar Holguin; costume design by LAVC staff costumer, Judy Ashton (assisted by LAVC students Anne Tufenkjian and Andrea Ambartsumyan); lighting design by LAVC student Josh Holt (assisted by Courtney Geraldez). The production stage manager is Janette Jara; assistant stage managers are Louis Lake and Courteney Geraldez.
