Brian Finnegan and William Coulter with special guests John Weed and Aria DiSalvio
Finnegan is widely regarded as one of Ireland's most exciting and innovative traditional musicians, flaunting his flute and whistle with a flamboyance and flair and was for a dozen years the creative and driving force of the groundbreaking group, Flook.
A 2009 meeting at the Boxwood Flute Camp on Nova Scotia by Finnegan with Gourd Music recording artist and Grammy winner, the glittering guitarist Coulter was kismet. The sparks kindled there by the kindred spirits served to fire tours of the U.S. and Ireland by the dynamic duo, as well as the release of CD, 'Toward the Sun,' which has met with acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
The description of Finnegan in 'Scotland on Sunday' could serve as well for his cohort Coulter, 'A thrilling talent, marvelous technical dexterity, bold musical imagination and urgency, combining playing of breathtaking suppleness and delicacy.
Special guests for the concert will be Coulter's colleagues in One Lane Bridge; fiddler John Weed and cellist Aria DiSalvio.
