RENO, NV.  Bruka Theatre opens their 2015/16 theatre season with the volatile OTHER DESERT CITIES written by Jon Robin Baitz.  The play is built with clever, gleaming dialogue, tantalizing hints of a dangerous mystery and a structural care that brings to mind the heyday of Lillian Hellman.  Other Desert Cities premiered Off-Broadway in 2011, was a finalist for The Pulitzer Prize for drama and received 5 Tony Award nominations.   It opens on October 2 and plays through October 25, 2015 at Bruka Theatre.

THE STORY: Brooke Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family's historya wound they don't want reopened. In effect, she draws a line in the sand and dares them all to cross it.  "Power, passion, and superbly crafted palaver stippled with blowdarts of witthis is what Baitz does best." New York Magazine.
