God's Country by Steven Dietz
Capitol Hill Arts Center Seattle, WA
God's Country weaves the Seattle trial of the white supremacist group called The Order (based in the NW), the assassination of Jewish Denver radio shock jock, Allan Berg, and the hate-filled career of The Order founder, Robert Matthews, into a fast-paced and emotionally gripping courtroom drama. First commissioned by ACT 18 years ago, God's Country has received hundreds productions around the world. "Dietz intends his play to disturb playgoers, to prod them into thinking seriously about the radical right as a continuing phenomenon and not just as the occasional headline or TV sound bite. It surely does that." Seattle Times
