Uplift Our Youth Foundation 13th Annual Grant Awards and Fund Raising Reception

The Board of Directors of the Uplift Our Youth Foundation is pleased to announce that we are hosting our 13th Annual Grant Awards and Fund Raising Reception on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Lansing Country Club, located at 2200 Moores River Drive. The reception will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

We're extremely pleased to have as our keynote speaker Ms. Felicia Turrentine Wasson, Greater Detroit Area Director, Public Affairs and Communications for Coca-Cola.

This year our Child Advocate will be Mr. Josh Hicks, Music Teacher Shabazz Academy. For the first time in our history, the foundation's Legacy Award will go to Mr. Willard Walker, former City of Lansing Human Relations & Community Services Department Director & State of Michigan Executive. Also, this year's Spotlight on Excellence goes to musician Taylor Taylor.

Each year the Foundation awards grants to organizations/agencies that provide services to at-risk youth in career, educational and other interdisciplinary activities. We're pleased to announce that as we approach our 13th year of existence we have awarded over $130,000 to these organizations/agencies.
