The Music Man
Bridgeport Theatre Company, now in residence at Downtown Cabaret Theatre presents "The Music Man" by Meredith Willson.
The show runs May 4-20, 2012.
May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19 @ 8pm; May 6, 13, & 20 @ 5pm.
About the show:
Meredith Willson's The Music Man, set in the Iowa of 1912, tells the wholesome and explicitly moral story of a charismatic con man, Professor Harold Hill, the fast-talking salesman of musical instruments. He convinces the good folks of River City, Iowa that they need a band.
His plans come to a crashing halt when he falls head-over-heels in love with Marian, the town's uptight librarian. Gloriously entertaining, it's the perfect musical for the whole family!

Groups 10+ will enjoy a 20-25% discount and pay NO TICKET FEE! Adults (regularly $30 after ticket fee) are just $25, Seniors (regularly $25 after ticket fee) are just $20, Students (regularly $20 after ticket fee) are just $15. (our staff will need to process this separately so please contact us instead of Brown Paper Tickets).
FOOD/PICNIC INFO
Following in the tradition of Downtown Cabaret Theatre, we will also be allowing food/drink to be brought in for your enjoyment. We also offer drinks and snacks at our concession stand which is open before the show and at intermission. The seating area opens 45 minutes before curtain for you to have your pre-show picnic.
PARKING INFO
Ample street parking is available near the Downtown Cabaret Theatre. Additionally, a guarded parking lot is available right across from the theatre on Golden Hill Street for just $2 per car. The theatre is wheelchair accessible (however there is no elevator to the balcony). Please indicate if you need disabled access when ordering your tickets.

Take Exit 27A (Rt 25/8 Connector). Immediately move over to the right lane and take exit 2 (Golden Hill Street/Main Street. At the end of the ramp, go straight through light, pass the Church on your right hand side and Cabaret Theatre is the second building on the right. Parking is on the left on Lyon Terrace.
From Route 25 & Route 8 South (From Trumbull/Waterbury)
Take Exit 3 (Main Street Washington Ave) Exit will fork. Take left fork (Main Street South) follow Main Street South to the third traffic light and take a right onto Golden Hill Street. The Cabaret Theatre is on the top of the hill on the left. Parking is on the right on Lyon Terrace.
From Merritt Parkway North (From Stamford/NYC)
Take Exit 49-S (Bridgeport Rt 25). Take Exit 3 (Main Street Washington Ave) Exit will fork. Take left fork (Main Street South) follow Main Street South to the third traffic light and take a right onto Golden Hill Street. The Cabaret Theatre is on the top of the hill on the left. Parking is on the right on Lyon Terrace.
From Merritt Parkway South (From New Haven)
Take Exit 52 on the split take (Bridgeport Rt 8) Take Exit 3 (Main Street Washington Avenue. Exit will fork. Take left fork (Main Street South) follow Main Street South to the third traffic light and take a right onto Golden Hill Street. The Cabaret Theatre is on the top of the hill on the left. Parking is on the right on Lyon Terrace.
From I-91
Take I-91 South to New Haven, then pick up I-95 South. Take exit 27A (Rt 8 & 25 Trumbull/Waterbury). Immediately move over to the right lane and take exit 2 (Golden Hill Street/Main Street. From I-84
Take Exit 9 (Brookfield/Bridgeport Rt 25) Take Rt 25 South to Trumbull, Rt 25 will open up to a three lane highway. Take Exit 3 (Main Street Washington Avenue. Exit will fork. Take left fork (Main Street South) follow Main Street South to the third traffic light and take a right onto Golden Hill Street. The Cabaret Theatre is on the top of the hill on the left. Parking is on the right on Lyon Terrace.
From New York City
Take the West Side Highway to I-95 (via the Cross Bronx Expressway). Follow all signs to New England on I-95. Take exit 27A (Rt 8 & 25 Trumbull/Waterbury). Immediately move over to the right lane and take exit 2 (Golden Hill Street/Main Street. At the end of the ramp, go straight through light, pass the Church on your right hand side and Cabaret Theatre is the second building on the right. Parking is on the left on Lyon Terrace.
Theater policies:
The use of recording equipment of any kind is prohibited. Unauthorized recording will be confiscated and deleted. Late seating will be made at the discretion of the house manager and artistic staff, to avoid disturbance to the production and to other patrons. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone, and disruptions will not be tolerated.
