| Description |
An unsettling yet inspiring look at corporate control of the pop music "industry", in which a few companies determine which music people can hear on the radio and buy in stores. Meanwhile, there are more new bands and more ways to discover, see, and hear them than ever before. Will corporations be allowed to silence musical creativity and diversity? Featuring interviews and/or performances by Erykah Badu, Calexico, Elvis Costello, David Hidalgo, Branford Marsalis, Dave Matthews Band, My Morning Jacket, Questlove (of The Roots), Bonnie Raitt, Widespread Panic, and many other artists. Narrated by Forrest Whittaker. Directed by Andrew Shapter. (95 minutes, 2006). |
