The Oakland-East Bay Gay Men's chorus proudly presents a composers concert, "The Writes of Spring". Under the direction of Interim Artistic Director Stephanie Lynne Smith, "The Writes of Spring" will include the world premiere commission by Red Bennett, composition student of Conrad Susa at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, of an excerpt from John Muir's "Mountain Thoughts" set for men's chorus. The concert also features arrangements by composers within the membership and staff of the Chorus, as well as the final revision of Jack Curtis Dubowsky's "Quaker Peace Testimony". Joining OEBGMC this year will be special musical guests GAPA Men's Chorus under the direction of Randall Kikukawa.
