Opening Night Reception, Free Men with Babel-Ashenaz!
Santa Cruz Jewish Film Festival and media arts celebration! This year we have an additional treat on opening night following our reception and first film, Free Men plus a special concert with Babel-Ashenaz playing an unique mix of Middle Eastern and Western Jewish liturgical traditions. Musicians include Frank London (of the Grammy-winning group the Klezmatics), Yair Dalal (Israeli violinist and oud master of Iraqi background), our very own Santa Cruz percussionist Dror Sinai, and Emmanuel Mann (co-founder of Bustan Avraham).
