Description
Sustaining Cultural and Biological Diversity will synthesize the knowledge that has accumulated about the interactions between cultural, biological, and linguistic diversity and provide a forum for sharing data, recommendations, and accessible information among educators, students, practitioners, policy makers, and the general public. The symposium will also explore the various biological and cultural processes that produce and regulate environmental knowledge and practices in different social, political, and economic contexts around the world. It will place an emphasis on understanding different ways of knowing and of attributing material and non-material values to the natural world, and on the relevance of integrating ethical and cultural values with both theory and practice.
