Improv 101
Want to be more creative? Need to improve on your ability to think on your feet? Looking for skills that will enhance your personal and professional life? Then Improv 101 is for you! Taught by John Haynes, Director of the Creative Institute, these classes are designed for anyone who wants to expand their creativity and delve into the world of thinking less and creating more. This curriculum draws from improvisational theater and helps students discover their creativity through learning to get out of the cloud of judgment, trust their instincts, and be in the moment. Our classes promote risk-taking in a safe environment so you discover your true creative nature. What makes this class unique? It's an improv class designed for the beginner. It's designed to help you explore a number of areas of creativity. It's taught by instructors who understand the needs of the students and help you discover your personal creative process.
When: Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30pm; class runs for 8 weeks, beginning March 5.
More About the Creative Institue John Haynes, Instructor John Haynes is the director of The Creative Institute at the Actors Theater of Minnesota. Formally the Director of the Brave New Institute School of Improvisation, John brings over 15 years experience to his classes. John performs improvisation regularly in the Twin Cities with Stevie Ray's Improv Company; he has been a company member with The Mystery Café Comedy Dinner Theater as well as performing his one-man improv structure "Voices in My Head". John is also the co-creator of the popular improv duo Police Cop Detective PI.
