Willow Restaurant's third pop-up will be something of a first for us: we are collaborating to help raise money for EarthArtAg, a non-profit located here in Portland whose mission is to teach young people how to grow their own food. Talk about shortening the food supply chain! Such a valuable mission is something that Willow has a vested interest in and when approached by EAA to collaborate, we certainly agreed. The organization will donate some produce from their community and school gardens, where children come on a regular basis to learn about home-gardening and how it can impact their lives. We just want to help these ingredients, and their origin, shine. 50% of all profits from this dinner will be donated to EAA, making it a shared win for both Willow Restaurant and their organization.
This dinner will beheld in the private dining room of Bluehour, at the corner of NW 13th & Everett in Portland Oregon, on Sunday, September 13th.. Chefs John Pickett and Doug Weiler will be putting their modernist spin on familiar dishes and flavors to create a new kind of Portland dining experience. It will feature an 10-course menu, plus snacks and surprises, of locally sourced produce and meats many coming from schools and children that have worked with EAA. Wine pairings will be complimentary and optional.
