MISSSEY Inaugural Gala
Please join us for the MISSSEY "Inspire Change" Inaugural Gala on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 5:00PM  11:00PM at The Terrace Room in the historic Lake Merritt Hotel in Oakland, California.  

Our Mission:  Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting, and Serving Sexually Exploited Youth (MISSSEY) advocates and facilitates the empowerment and inner transformation of sexually exploited youth by holistically addressing their specific needs. MISSSEY collaborates to bring about systemic and community change to prevent the sexual exploitation of children and youth through raising awareness, education, and policy development.

The primary objective for the gala is to raise approximately $30,000 for the following programs:

        Direct services to victims (Advocacy, Intensive Case Management, and a drop-in center also known as the Safe Place Alternative).

        Training and Technical Assistance.

        Supporting the MISSSEY Community Collective (MCC):

o    Outreach Ambassadors Program

o    Development & Fundraising

o    Legislation & Policy

o    Events and Outings Coordination

o    Administrative Assistance

o    Professional Skills Development

o    Reach for the Stars Project

The program will include a no-host cocktail and hors d'oeuvre reception with piano jazz music provided by Lee Allen, silent auction of original art work, dinner featuring guest speakers Withelma Ortiz-Macey (check out this video: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2011/01/05/oakland-social-worker-changing-lives-of-young-victims/ ) and Carissa Phelps  (check out this video: http://www.carissaproject.com/ ) along with DJ dancing.
